Serenity — A Glimpse of Stillness | Buddhist Mantra

This image was taken several years ago in Myanmar. A young novice stands behind the bars of a monastery. His gaze is calm and steady. When I later heard this mantra, the image returned.

The boy. The quiet of the monastery. And the slow lights of the outer world passing by. In this sound there is a deep serenity. Not only a moment — something that feels like coming home. The boy remains still. And perhaps, if we stay a little longer with his gaze, the silence begins to speak.
